Bitunix KYC 1 vs KYC 2: 500,000 vs 5,000,000 USDT daily withdrawals, and the three things support will never ask for

Official Bitunix blog art for its compliance and KYC guide: a KYC form under a magnifying glass with a green check, a passport, a shield, scales, a gavel and stacked coins.

Bitunix updated its compliance and KYC explainer on its blog last week. The useful part for most of us is the tier comparison, so here it is in plain terms, plus the security rules that come with it.

The image is the official art from that Bitunix article: a KYC form under a magnifying glass, a passport, a shield and a gavel. No prices or account data in it.

KYC 1 (basic)

  • Government-issued ID plus a biometric selfie
  • Automated, usually done in a few minutes
  • Crypto withdrawals up to 500,000 USDT per 24 hours
  • Basic daily fiat limits, full P2P and fiat access

KYC 2 (advanced)

  • Proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement
  • Manual review, 1 to 3 hours
  • Crypto withdrawals up to 5,000,000 USDT per 24 hours
  • Maximum daily fiat limits

So the jump is mostly about size: ten times the daily crypto withdrawal ceiling for one extra document and a short manual check.

What sits behind it

Bitunix names Sumsub for identity checks and Cobo and Fireblocks on the custody side, and says it follows ISO/IEC 27001 standards. The article describes risk-based checks, monitoring for unusual activity (they don't publish the thresholds, on purpose) and extra controls during extreme volatility. On the asset side it points to its 1:1 Merkle tree Proof of Reserves and a $50M USDC Care Fund meant as a buffer for extreme events.

The scam rules worth memorizing

Support will never ask for your password, your 2FA backup codes, or an SMS one-time code. If anyone asks for any of those, treat it as impersonation, no matter how official the DM looks. The article also says to turn on 2FA, use a unique password, log in only through official channels, skip links from unknown sources, and check staff or social handles against Bitunix's official verification page before trusting them.

If you do need support

Have these ready so the ticket moves faster: a clear description of the problem, the date and time it happened, the relevant transaction or order references, and screenshots only if needed, with no codes visible.
