BloFin Signal Bot 2026: connect a TradingView strategy to perps — webhook setup, sizing, and safety checks

By Updated

Key takeaway

Most bots on BloFin carry their own logic. A grid bot reacts to where price sits inside your range, and a DCA bot reacts to how far price has dropped since the last fill. The Signal Bot is different: it has no strategy of its own.

It is an execution layer that takes alerts from a TradingView strategy you already built and turns them into perpetual futures orders on BloFin. The decision of when to trade stays in TradingView; BloFin handles the orders, sizing controls, and position management.

This guide walks through how the pieces fit, what you need before you start, how to set it up without silent failures, and the risks that matter once real margin is on the line.

How the Signal Bot is built: signal layer vs bot layer

Think of the setup as two separate parts.

The signal. When you create a signal on BloFin, the platform generates a webhook address and a unique security string called a signalToken. Both go into the alert settings of your TradingView strategy. Every time the strategy fills an order, TradingView sends a structured message to that webhook, and the signalToken proves the message belongs to your signal. Without a matching token, nothing executes.

The bot. Once the signal exists, you create one or more bots that listen to it. The bot is where execution rules live: trading pair, leverage, margin allocation, and order sizing. Because signal and bot are separate, a single TradingView strategy can drive several bots at once, for example one on BTCUSDT at 5x and another on ETHUSDT at 3x, each with its own margin bucket.

What the alert message carries

The alert payload tells BloFin the action (buy or sell), the current and previous market position, the instrument, the quantity, a timestamp, and the signalToken. It also includes a maxLag field, which defaults to 60 seconds. If an alert arrives later than that, BloFin treats it as stale and ignores it. That protects you from executing a signal that was valid a minute and a half ago but no longer reflects the market.

Before you start: the checklist

  1. USDT in the Futures account, not the Funding account. The minimum margin per bot is 50 USDT.
  2. A Pine Script strategy, not an indicator. The bot reads strategy order events, so the script must use the strategy functions. Indicators calculate values but never emit order fills.
  3. A paid TradingView plan. Webhook alerts are a paid feature; on a free plan the webhook field will not appear.
  4. The perpetual chart. Build and alert on the perpetual contract (for example BTCUSDT.P), not a spot pair, so prices and symbols line up.
  5. One-way position mode. The bot holds one direction per pair at a time. You can still be long one pair and short another with separate bots.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Open Trading Bots from the Futures menu (or from the bots tab on the futures trading page) and choose Signal Bot.
  2. Create a new signal. Copy the webhook address and the alert message template BloFin shows you; the template already contains the signalToken.
  3. In TradingView, open the strategy properties and align order sizing. USDT-based or contract-based sizing works most predictably; for both, set investmentType to base and use the strategy order contracts placeholder for the amount. Percentage-of-equity sizing is the least reliable live, because backtest equity and live equity drift apart.
  4. Create the alert: choose your strategy, set the condition to order fills only, and make it open-ended so it does not expire.
  5. Paste the BloFin template into the message box and confirm the signalToken matches the one on the BloFin screen.
  6. In the notifications tab, enable the webhook option, paste the webhook address, name the alert, and create it.
  7. Back on BloFin, click Create a Bot. Pick the symbol (it must match the TradingView chart), set leverage (default 5x), and enter margin (minimum 50 USDT).
  8. Review advanced settings: entry sizing (TradingView signal by default, or fixed contracts, fixed margin, or a percentage), multiple entry (on by default, lets the strategy scale in), and optional take profit and stop loss as a hard safety layer.
  9. Confirm and launch.

Verify the connection before you walk away

Trigger a condition that should fire the alert, then open the bot Details page and check Events History within a minute or two. Every incoming alert is logged with the action taken or the reason it was rejected. The common failures are a mismatched signalToken, a maxLag timeout, or an instrument format mismatch. If Events History is empty, recheck the webhook address and token.

Managing a live bot

  • Adjust investment to add margin or withdraw unused buffer above what is in use.
  • Manual order lets you place extra orders on the bot pair without stopping it.
  • Close All exits the pair at market immediately.
  • Stop cancels pending orders, closes positions at market, and returns margin and realized profit to the Futures account.
  • Parameters cannot be edited on a running bot. To change leverage or sizing, stop it and create a new one.
  • One-step reversals are supported, so a long-to-short flip does not need separate close and open alerts.

Tips

  • Paper trade the full loop on minimum margin first; latency and sizing surprises show up on day one.
  • Keep leverage lower than your backtest tolerated. Live fills include slippage and funding the tester may not model.
  • Add a bot-level stop loss even if the strategy has exits. Webhooks can fail, and a hard floor is cheap insurance.
  • Review Events History daily, not just PnL.

Risks

  • A strategy that looked great in backtests can be overfit and fail live.
  • Missed or delayed alerts mean missed exits as well as missed entries.
  • Leverage magnifies both losses and execution errors, and liquidation can realize a full margin loss.
  • Funding payments accumulate on multi-day holds.

FAQ

Does the Signal Bot trade spot? No. It supports perpetual futures only.

Do I need to write Pine Script myself? No, but you need a working strategy script. A published strategy works if it emits strategy order events.

Can one signal run several bots? Yes. Each bot has its own pair, leverage, and margin.

What happens to a late alert? If it arrives after the maxLag window, BloFin ignores it.
