MEXC fee math: BTCUSDT 0%/0.02% default vs 0.01%/0.04% in selected regions

By Updated

Key takeaway

MEXC futures fees on $BTC.USDT are not one global number anymore. The public contract detail still shows the default special rate of maker 0% and taker 0.02% (makerFeeRate 0, takerFeeRate 0.0002). For select users in selected countries and regions, an Oct 26, 2026 change set BTCUSDT to maker 0.01% and taker 0.04%.

ETH on that same regional notice sits at 0% / 0.02%. Earlier October notices also moved ETH and other pairs in some regions (including an Oct 8 effective window). Always read your own account fee page.

This post uses those published figures only. No invented notional. Formulas stay the same shape: each side costs notional times the rate that applies to your account.

Two BTCUSDT schedules to keep straight

Default (where the regional change does not apply):

  • Maker 0%
  • Taker 0.02%

Selected regions since Oct 26, 2026 10:00 UTC (BTCUSDT on the regional notice):

  • Maker 0.01%
  • Taker 0.04%

If your panel disagrees with either row, trust the panel. Region and promo flags are account-specific.

Formulas

Opening fee = notional_open x fee_rate Closing fee = notional_close x fee_rate

Same-notional round trip under the default BTCUSDT row:

  • Maker / maker: notional x 0%
  • Taker / taker: notional x 0.04%
  • Mixed: notional x 0.02%

Same-notional round trip under the selected-region BTCUSDT row:

  • Maker / maker: notional x 0.02%
  • Taker / taker: notional x 0.08%
  • Mixed: notional x 0.05%

Why region talk matters

A trader who still budgets 0% / 0.02% while sitting in a selected-region cohort underpays the estimate by a wide margin on taker exits. The regional notices say applicable rates may vary by region and by futures pair. That is why this post refuses a single worldwide MEXC fee claim.

ETH and friends

On the Oct 26 regional board, ETHUSDT and ADAUSDT are listed at 0% / 0.02% for the affected cohort, while several other names share the 0.01% / 0.04% bucket with BTC. Separate October notices adjusted ETH and other contracts in some regions as early as Oct 8. Check the pair you trade.

Funding is separate

Funding uses position value times the funding rate and is not the maker/taker schedule. Do not fold it into the fee percent without labeling it.

Pairs named here

$BTC.USDT is the headline example. The same habit of checking the account fee page applies to $ETH.USDT, $SOL.USDT, $XRP.USDT and $DOGE.USDT when those names appear on regional notices or promos.

Mistakes

  1. Saying MEXC has zero futures fees for everyone.
  2. Using only the API default while your account shows the regional row.
  3. Skipping the close side on a round-trip estimate.
  4. Mixing spot MX-deduction talk into a futures worksheet without checking eligibility.
  5. Mixing account-verification policy into a fee estimate. This fee post stays on maker, taker, notional, and funding only.

FAQ

Which rate do I use in the formula? The rate on your account fee page or trading page for that futures pair.

Does MX deduction change the math? Only when your account actually shows the futures MX deduction feature. If the section is missing, it is not available for that account.

Quick sanity check for default BTCUSDT taker / taker? Notional x 0.0004 total when open and close notionals match.

What should the capture show? Either the contract fee fields for BTC_USDT (0% / 0.02%) or the official regional announcement table with BTCUSDT 0.01% / 0.04%, clearly labeled as regional.

Which schedule am I on?

Open the account fee page or the futures pair fee display. If it matches the default BTCUSDT special rate (maker 0%, taker 0.02%), use the default formulas. If it matches the selected-region BTCUSDT row (maker 0.01%, taker 0.04%), use the regional formulas. If it shows something else, use what the page shows. This post refuses a single worldwide claim because the Oct 26 notice says rates may vary by region and by futures pair.

Decimal form

Default taker 0.02% is 0.0002 per side. Default same-notional taker / taker is notional x 0.0004. Regional taker 0.04% is 0.0004 per side. Regional same-notional taker / taker is notional x 0.0008. Maker 0% stays 0 on the default row; regional maker 0.01% is 0.0001 per side.

Worksheet

  1. Read the live fee row for your BTCUSDT (or other) futures account.
  2. fee_open = notional_open x that maker or taker rate.
  3. fee_close = notional_close x the close-side rate.
  4. Add funding only for intervals you will hold.

Repeat the same steps for $ETH.USDT, $SOL.USDT, $XRP.USDT and $DOGE.USDT when those names appear on regional boards or pair panels. Do not assume every alt follows the BTC default.

What this fee post avoids

This walkthrough stays on maker, taker, notional, and funding. It does not discuss account verification policy. Fee formulas do not need that topic.

MX deduction caveat

Only include an MX futures deduction in the estimate when your fee page shows that feature. If the section is missing, skip it.
